What are prestige car brands?

When people talk about cars, they often talk about a luxury they can not afford. However, is that always the most expensive cars? To me prestige car brands are a reliable, affordable and great looking vehicle. You could say a Ferrari is one of the prestige car brands, because people all over the world admire it and love it for its design, speed and overall brand. However, a Ferarri is extremely expensive and so for most people its one of the prestige car brands that is a fantasy. A more realistic dream is an Audi. Audi is another of the prestige car brands, but not as expensive as a Ferarri. Especially their Audi R8 model! What a beautiful car that is! Maybe still not that affordable, but it is a lot more realistic. Super cars such as Aston Martin, Bugatti, Lamborghini and Mclaren have a category all to themselves, way above prestige. These are the luxury, non-affordable and show-off cars.

Which cars are classed within prestige car brands?

Most regularly people will probably tell you: Mercedes, BMW, Porche, Jaguar and Land rover as prestige car brands which are realistic. Each of these brands have excellent reviews in car performance, reliability, looks and range of affordability. Each of these brands are loved by the media, magazines and still appear on many dream car lists. If you asked someone who nothing about cars to list some brands, these are more likely to appear. They aren’t the most expensive, but can still be an envy to someone who doesn’t own it.

Which cars aren’t classed within prestige car brands?
The cars that instantly spring to mind that are not prestige car brands are brands you don’t hear about much. These non prestige car brands don’t receive as much love from the media or from peoples conversations. Of course I am talking about brands such as Cadillac, GMC and Infiniti. Many people won’t even know of their existence and if they were asked to list brands of cars they know, these probably won’t appear. Other cars that will probably fall under non-prestige are ones that teenagers and young drivers own. This is because of how they are associated with the age group, cars that are in prestige groups often have an older more mature buyer.

However, if your opinion is different, that is ok! This is a personal thing. If your version of a prestige car is a Fiat Punto, then your dream car should be easy to find!
